About the Parish
A living community of faith under the Archdiocese of Madurai, serving Kavirayapuram and its neighbouring villages.

The Parish
Rooted in 250+ Years of Heritage
The parish of Kavirayapuram, erected in 1989, belongs to the Nilakkottai Circle of the Archdiocese of Madurai. Its patron is St. Antony the Great — the patron of the original 1854 chapel — and it serves the faithful of Kavirayapuram together with its sub-station at Rayappa Pillai Patti.
Alongside the shrine, the parish community is animated by the Legion of Mary and Anbiam (basic Christian communities), and runs a Nursery & Primary English-medium School under the care of the parish priest. A convent and dispensary on adjoining land serve pilgrims and the local community.
